Safer Storage

The Hyperkin Polygon VR Protector Bag has a wide range of compatibility with most mainstream HMD units such as the HTC Vive. It claims to offer storage with the added safety of protective padding, with a 4ft. shoulder strap to top it off. But is it worth it?

Pro’s and Con’s

Pros

Added Protection for Relocating

If you demo your HTC Vive a lot or find yourself needing to move your HMD from point A to B a frequently, it’s definitely going to protect it from most moderate collusions during transit.

4ft. Shoulder Stap

Included on the Hyperkin Polygon VR Protector Bag is a 4ft. long adjustable shoulder strap that makes it very convenient to carry and still have your hands free to also bring your tripods along with you.

Cons

Minimal Space

The Hyperkin Polygon VR Protector Bag has limited space and only will store the main essential components and hardware. Even power cords and the like will need additional storage solutions. It also will not fit the HTC Vive if it has the Deluxe Audio Strap attached.

K

Costly

In comparsion to other sotrage solutions it seems quite pricey for the limited storage, if only made up by it’s protective nature.

Our Full Review

The Hyperkin Polygon VR Protector Bag attempts to deliver protection and storage, which every HTC Vive demo provider loves. The bag boasts an included  4ft. long adjustable shoulder strap that helps the user carry additional accessories, such as your tripods, along with you in the same trip, and is made of a very thick padding that definitely gives you confidence that your hardware is safe. However, there are a few concerns.

The Hyperkin Polygon VR Protector Bag does not allow the user to fit the HTC Vive if it has the Deluxe Audio Strap attached, and may not fit all of the power adaptor and additional cords. As you can see here, the Deluxe Audio Strap (review) is a near essential accessory upgrade for the HTC Vive, and the lack of compatibility with it is concerning. The price of the bag for the limited storage provided seems to be quite steep, but at least you would be confident dropping the whole kit from 5 feet without much worry.

Bottom Line

The Hyperkin Polygon VR Protector Bag will protect your essential hardware just fine from small falls or impacts. However it lacks the space needed to fit the most essential of accessories and even required power cords, unless you really cram them in there. At that point, isn’t it just an expensive glorified box?
